The AFCEA CMD chapter formed the Women In Intelligence Group (WIIG) in October 2007 in response to the need for a forum to address the challenges and issues faced in the Government and Industry communities by the current generation of women in leadership roles and to develop the next generation of women leaders.
WIIG supports women served by the CMD chapter of AFCEA by offering a series of programs and subgroups where women of all career levels and disciplines from government, military, academia, and industry gather to discuss and share experiences, lessons learned, best practices, network, and provide service and education to our community.
WIIG’s subgroups and areas of interest include:
- Mentorship Circles
- Speaker Series Events
- Book Club
- Education Programs including the DREAM scholarship
- Networking/Social Events
- Events Calendar
In support of the next generation of women leaders, WIIG’s fundraising efforts are focused on providing scholarships to young women in the CMD area who intend to pursue college degrees in Engineering, Computer Science and related technical disciplines.

If you’re the competitive type (whether it’s competitive with others or yourself) join our WIIG 5K Team where the runners with the top 4 race times for our team contribute to our overall team placement in the race.
Or, if your style is more about an enjoyable day walking with your favorite people (be it your family or friends from work), then the 1 Mile Fun Run is the best bet for you.
