Members of this committee participate in speaker events at local high schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges regarding women’s topics/challenges in the IT and scientific career fields, and the need for women to join and contribute to the IC workplace as leaders and subject matter experts. This AFCEA CMD WIIG committee is also creating a professional development series for women in the AFCEA CMD Chapter to address targeted skills development such as understanding the IC; business development, and contractual program execution.

The Community/Education Program committee has been very active since the inception of WIIG. This committee has teamed with University of Maryland for their 1st Women in Engineering DREAM conference where we participated as a speaker and also provided a $2,500 scholarship.
