What is WIIG?

The Central Maryland Chapter of AFCEA formed the WOMEN IN INTELLIGENCE GROUP (WIIG) in October 2007 in response to the need for a forum to help the current generation of women in leadership roles address the challenges and issues they face in the Government and Industry communities where women are not generally well represented at the executive leadership ranks and to help develop the next generation of women leaders. The AFCEA CMD WIIG has created a support structure for women served by the CMD Chapter by offering a series of programs where women of all career levels and disciplines from government, the military, academia, and industry gather to discuss and share experiences, lessons learned, best practices, network, and provide service and education to our community. The AFCEA CMD WIIG is made up of five subgroups:

1. Mentor Circles
2. Speaker Programs
3. Community/Education Programs
4. Networking/Social Events
5. Fundraising

The AFCEA CMD Chapter of WIIG has received overwhelming support from AFCEA's community partners who are encouraging their employees to join, as well as assisting with our subgroup programs. WIIG has now grown to include more than 250 active participants, with new members added every month!. This rapidly growing organization is truly making a difference for the women of the AFCEA CMD Chapter and for our client and industry community.
