The AFCEA sponsored Mentorship Night’s provide a forum for Military and civilian leadership to share their insights on career progression, the roles of mentors in their development, and lessons learned along the way to aspiring young professionals.

The Central Maryland Chapter will provide light food and beverages.

THE SPEAKERS

Diane E. Batchik

Co-founder and CEO, White Cliffs Consulting LLC

Diane has 26 years in the Intelligence Community, within both government and industry. She worked for NSA for 18 years, including external tours at the then-Director of Central Intelligence’s Arms Control & Intelligence Staff, and at US European Command Headquarters in Germany, where she was Chief of Cryptologic Applications, leading the operationalization of NSA’s SIGINT and Information Assurance personnel deployed across the European Theater.

Her experience encompasses Signals Intelligence collection, analysis and reporting; Information Assurance; counterintelligence; support to military and diplomatic operations; advanced technology development; program management, and strategy and business development. She has particularly extensive international experience, to include participation in bi- and multilateral US Government negotiations, international contracting, teaming, and export control (ITAR) compliance, and management of physically distributed international organizations.

Diane is co-founder and CEO of White Cliffs Consulting, LLC, a 35-person company which focuses on the provision of high-end cyber and computer network operations services to the national security community. In this role, she provides strategic direction and executive leadership for the company; client and industry relationship management; mission and business development; program management; and professional development mentoring and leadership for company personnel. Prior to this position, Diane was the Senior Director for Federal Programs at a technology development company focused on end-point digital intelligence technologies; and Director of an international business unit of Northrop Grumman, focused on advanced technology programs supporting our Allied partners.

Diane is active in the community, inter alia serving as a Mentor for AFCEA’s Women in Intelligence Group. She attended the University of Virginia, and currently lives in Columbia, MD with her husband, two sons (ages 13 and 15), and golden retriever, Champ. She enjoys travel, gardening, reading and exercise in her spare (?) time.


Brian Cooper

Business Development Lead, Praxis Engineering

Mr. Cooper currently serves as the Business Development lead for Praxis Engineering. In this role he is focused on business development, strategic relationships, and corporate marketing activities. Mr. Cooper has over 17 years of diverse experience in the Intelligence Community, from serving as a cryptologist in the United States Navy, to software engineering, program management, and executive management in private industry.

Mr. Cooper has a B.S. in Computer Studies from the University Of Maryland University College. He currently serves on the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International Intelligence Committee, AFCEA Central Maryland Board of Directors, and a former Past-President of the AFCEA Central Maryland Chapter.


David C. Gore

Vice President and Deputy Director Business Development

Intelligence & Information Solutions Business Unit Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC)

David Gore, a vice president at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) since January 2008, serves as deputy director business development for the Intelligence & Information Solutions Business Unit (IISBU), the National Security Agency (NSA) account manager for the corporation, and capture manager for the Analytic Modernization (AMOD) programs. Mr. Gore has over 23 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing management, business development, capture management, management consulting, technical consulting, technical program management, business operations management, and systems engineering.

Prior to joining SAIC, Gore served as vice president of business development at L-3 Government Services, Inc. (GSI), where he led a business development organization supporting the Intelligence and Special Operations (ISO) Division. Prior to this role, he served as director of national intelligence accounts at Keane Federal Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Keane, Inc. In this role,

Gore had overall responsibility for managing all intelligence community-related business. Prior to this role, Gore was a senior manager at Titan Systems Corporation. Gore’s responsibilities included program manager of several large tasks for a $500 million contract, and capture manager for several contracts ranging in value from $50 to $75 million.

Following an engineering internship with the NSA, Gore began his career as a systems engineer in 1987. Promoted to program manager in 1991, he successfully managed and delivered multi-million dollar projects to field sites around the world from 1991 to 1995. From 1995 to 2001, he served as a senior business and IT consultant/manager with firms, including AT&T and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (now IBM Global Services). In 2001, Gore transitioned to Quantum Photonics, Inc., a new start-up company in the telecommunications industry, where he served as senior manager of business operations and strategic planning.

Gore is a leader in his community, having served as president of several homeowners’ associations in Maryland, where he interacts frequently with civic and political leaders. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987, a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business in 1992.

Gore and his wife Laura live in Crownsville, Maryland. He enjoys local sightseeing, traveling within the U.S. and to Europe, attending major sporting events, listening to music, visiting lighthouses, and studying American history.
