| The Central Maryland Chapter provides three $2500 Teaching Tools Awards for math and scientific education teachers in central Maryland. We request nominees for elementary, middle and high school teachers in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties. Nominations may come from school officials, peers, parents, students, or anyone else. The Teaching Tools Awards will be based on teacher performance and qualifications, the intended use of the funds, the number of students influenced, and the need of the school/department. Please nominate a deserving teacher by providing us with 1-2 pages of information on:
- Why this teacher deserves this special support.
- Details on how the teacher will use the funds. (remember we are a Science and Mathematics organization, so uses in those areas carry more weight.) Examples could include electronic networking services for on-line research; computers or peripherals; meters, wires, etc. for electrical experiments; experiment kits; or special science books, tools, etc. Please include cost data.
- Number of students that will be aided by the award this school year.
- The impact of not having the equipment or materials and/or other special circumstances.
- Other comments, as you feel appropriate.
Nominations should be emailed to Alan Setzco,
